About
About Koyomi App Lab
Koyomi App Lab is a personal development site that shares indie apps, free web tools, practical guides, and development notes designed to make everyday work and life a little easier.
The site focuses on small inconveniences that appear in day-to-day tasks, such as image editing, App Store screenshot preparation, barcode input, text snippets, and marketplace listing support. I explore ways to turn those small problems into apps or browser-based tools.
What this site provides
Koyomi App Lab mainly publishes the following types of content.
Web tool articles
Articles that include small browser-based tools, such as image converters, QR code tools, Exif checkers, and screenshot preparation tools.
App guides
Practical guides that explain how to use indie apps, configure settings, understand updates, and apply them in real workflows.
Development notes and columns
Notes about what I built, tested, struggled with, improved, and learned while developing apps, web tools, and this site.
App information
Information about indie apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, along with related support resources.
About the developer
Koyomi App Lab is operated by an indie developer. The apps and web tools on this site are based on past experience in web production, system development, and the small problems I encounter in everyday work.
While working on task automation, web pages, data organization, and workflow improvements, I often notice ideas that could become small tools. Some of those ideas are developed into apps, browser tools, or articles for people who may face similar problems.
This site shares not only finished apps and tools, but also the background, lessons learned, and practical notes from the development process.
Why I create and publish these tools
Many of the apps and web tools published on Koyomi App Lab started as ideas to make my own work a little easier.
For example, I may want to process images in bulk, prepare screenshots for app submission, write marketplace listings more efficiently, or reduce repetitive input work on a PC. This site turns those small inconveniences into tools and articles that are easier to understand and use.
I also try to explain not only what was made, but why it was made, how to use it, and what to be careful about, so that the content can help others facing similar tasks.
Content and tool creation policy
Koyomi App Lab values content based on things I have actually built, tested, researched, or improved. Rather than only listing features, I try to explain use cases, decision points, and practical cautions.
- Start from real inconveniences and tasks encountered in daily work
- Aim to make the next action clear after reading an article
- Prefer web tools that can run as much as possible inside the browser
- Consider designs that avoid sending images or personal data outside the browser whenever possible
- Clearly label idea-stage articles as concepts or plans when they are not yet implemented
